Course Summary
Level 2 Security Guard Training is an intermediate-level course designed for security guards who want to enhance their skills and knowledge. The Level 2 Security Guard Training is a mandatory intermediate-level course required by the Texas Department of Public Safety-Regulatory Services Division for anyone wishing to work in the private security industry in Texas. The course covers the basics such as security procedures, risk assessment, emergency response, customer service, and legal and ethical responsibilities. It provides you with the necessary information and training to be a successful security guard. Designed to meet the requirements set by Chapter 1702 of the Texas Occupations Code and the DPS-RSD rules, it ensures that you learn about licensing, regulations, and operations of a security officer/company, as well as report writing and emergency response. You will also receive training in customer service, communication, and conflict resolution, which will help you interact effectively with clients, customers, and the public. At the end of the course, you will take an exam that tests your knowledge and understanding of the material covered in this course. Upon successful completion of the exam and the course, you will be eligible to receive a Non-Commissioned (unarmed/basic security) license from the Texas Department of Public Safety-Regulatory Services Division.
